The people of Mesopotamia believed that our world was dominated by gods, goddesses, demons and monsters. Each town was watched over by their own special god/goddess and their family. Temples were built for these gods to live in. The demons could be good or evil. Monsters were a combination of animals and birds.
Economy:
Back then money wasn't invented, so they used the barter system. Which is basically trading goods for goods. The Mesopotamian made a writing system, to keep track of buying and selling. Scribes kept records of the buying and selling of goods by writing on clay tablets. They used tub shaped boats to distribute goods up the Tigris and Euphrates river. However they couldn't come back, because the currents would pull them back.
Culture:
Some songs were written for the gods, but most of them were written for holidays and events. Songs were sung to children who sung them to their children. etc. They played an insrument called the Oud. The Oud is a small stringed musical instrument. The Pud appears a lot through Mesopotamian history, and shows up again in Egypt. The Mesopotamian played a sport similar to Rugby, but with a ball made of wood.
Intellectual:
The Mesopotamian studied ethics, hymns, lyrics, pronouns, prose, poetry, dialogue etc. The earliest form of logic was formed by the Babylonians. Logic was included somewhat in Babalonian astronomy and medicine. Astronomy and astrology took an obvious place in Babylonian society.
